A Dream

The sun broke over the mountain,
glistening on the flowing water.
Colours reflected in your eyes,
twining with the laugh lines there,
lighting the dawn more than the sun,
and bringing laughter to my heart.
Clouds drifted overhead, lazily,
dancing along the dawns slow rise.
You looked up, watching them, yearning,

Dragons are crafty wicked and wise,
You can tell just by looking into there eyes,
If you see a burning red flame,
It can only mean there betroth in giving pain,
If there eyes sparkle and glimmer of the lightest of blue,
You best be careful what you do,

What are Dreams?

What are the pictures in our minds,
when we are in deep slumber?
Who are the figures in the shadows,
which conquer in alarming number?

“What are Dreams?” The mortal asks,
of his knowing master?
“You cannot know, my faithful Hero,”
he said with kindly laughter.

What is the force which burns the mind’s eye
