Oracle of Ages, along with its sister Oracle of Seasons, are the long awaited sequels of Link’s Awakening. However they are not direct sequels and some even consider them prequels. Do they live up to their predecessor? Did Capcom make good Zelda games? Read on.
You play as Link again who has become curious about the powers of the mystical Triforce. He goes to Hyrule Castle to study it and as he approaches they begin to spin and send him to the land of Labrynna that needs saving from an evil force. Soon after you get there you meet up with a young girl named Nayru. You become friends and after that the evil scorceress Veran (whoa Mama!) comes and kidnaps Nayru. Come to find out Nayru is the Oracle of Ages and things begin changing mysteriously. It is up to Link to save Labrynna and Nayru before Veran changes history and becomes a supreme ruler. (more…)

Avernons are templars that serve the cause of darkness in relation to their deity’s faith. They excel in battle and are further rewarded for their loyalty, faith and devotion with a few prayers to help them destroy those who stand in opposition of their ways.
Avernons are rather single-minded in their goals and purpose – they serve the dark gods to destroy the followers of the Light. Those who show compassion and mercy to others also show weakness, and would make poor avernons. Avernons should be not considered mindless drones or mindless killers – they serve in whatever ways their gods deem they should serve. (more…)
